Finley Motors was a proud sponsor of Santa day held on the Steele County Museum.  Each child was able to visit with Santa and tell him all their Christmas wishes.  They all received a bag filled with goodies and received a cookie along with hot cocoa.
 
 
 
 
 
  
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and Finley Motors of Finley and Mayville  have had a Pink Pumpkin Contest at our Finley and Mayville locations.

During the month of October...they were asked to create your best "breast cancer awareness" pumpkin and bring it to your local Finley Motors location by October 15 to have on display! Community members stopped by the locations during October 18-27th and vote for your favorite pumpkin! Monetary donations were appreciated and will be given to the American Cancer Society.

William Erickson was one of nine finalists to receive a $500 award from the Heartland Chevy Trade School Scholarship Program this year. Karl Christian of Finley Motors, Inc. presented Erickson with the award.
  

We sponsored a kiddie parade in conjunction with a town's 125th celebration.   We helped sponsor so they the ambulance squad could get prizes for all of the kids that were in the parade.  It was great to see all the smiles on their faces after their names were drawn.  Finley Motors and your heartland Chevy Dealers are a proud sponsor.

 
 

 
 
 
 

Finley Motors helped with a donation to the Finley-Sharon T-ball.  We loved seeing those little kids back on the ball field playing ball and in the dirt.

Finley, - In the spirit of teamwork taught by youth sports, Finley Motors Chevrolet Buick is joining Ice Dawgs Hockey to provide players and coaches with hockey equipment kits that include hockey pucks, t-shirts, knit caps, a sponsorship check and an opportunity for community members to earn donations for their league via a Test Drive fundraiser.

Finley Motors Chevrolet Buick is also presenting a check representing a one-time monetary contribution to Ice Dawgs Hockey.

"Playing the game of hockey helps kids develop skills like leadership, cooperation and sportsmanship while bringing families and communities together to show their support. Finley Motors Chevrolet Buick and Chevy Youth hockey are proud to participate in a sport that brings so many smiles to kids and families in Mayville-Portland area," said Karl Christian, "Chevrolet believes that in play, there are possibilities and supports the spirit of teamwork that hockey instills in its players."

Some leagues plan to grant scholarships to families who cannot afford to enroll their children in the league, while others will use the funds to improve facilities and equipment.

Finley Motors Inc./Finley Motorsports (one of our chapter's major sponsors!) with the Heartland Chevy Dealer program is a BIG sponsor for the Meals of Hope program where ND FFA members will pack 200,000 meals at Winter Leadership Conference in Bismarck, January 4&5th! These meals will be distributed to those in need in North Dakota.

ND FFA members are providing ND families in need with 200,000 meals! When: January 4, 2020 during Winter Leadership Conference in Bismarck. All participants will work together to package 200,000 meals!! All meals stay in ND and will be distributed through local food banks.

Finley Motors served root beer floats to both the communities of Finley and Hope. They were served at the swimming pools at both towns. Finley Motors gave scholarship money to both swimming pools to sponsor youth that are less fortunate so they could enjoy summer with their friends. We feel at Finley Motors that being a child is so important and at times they have obstacles to overcome so we wanted to take a load off of the parents and be able to let their children enjoy summer swimming with their friends. SCHOOL DRIVE COMMUNITY EVENT

Finley Motors, along with Steele County Food Pantry, would like to thank everyone that participated in the school supply drive. Because of the generosity of the residents of our county, 11 students have the school supplies they need to start the year on the right foot! We wish for a successful school year for all of Steele County's students. 
Thank you to everyone that came to our customer appreciation supper and car show for 2019. Also thank you for the awesome support to our local Finley-Sharon Scholarship fund with your generous contributions we were able to give the committee over $1540. It was a great night for everyone. Also a big shout out to Midwest Dairy for the ice cream, Miller's Fresh foods for the meat and for doing all the grilling, Brett Gullicks for the potato salad and for Bremer's Market for the rest of the supplies. Finley, May 20, 2019 - Finley Motors is partnering with Finley Sharon Hope Page Spartans in Finley.  Finley Motors has joined forces with the national Chevrolet Youth Baseball program to provide new equipment and an opportunity for community members to earn donations for their league via a Test Drive fundraiser.

"Playing the game of baseball helps kids develop skills like leadership, cooperation, and sportsmanship while bringing families and communities together to show their support. Finley Motors and Chevrolet Youth Baseball are proud to participate in a sport that brings so many smiles to kids and families in Finley." said Karl Christian, President for Finley Motors. "Chevrolet believes in the power of play as a way for young people to build the skills needed to be successful in the future and supports the spirit of teamwork that baseball instills in its players."

2019 marks the fourteenth year of Chevrolet's Youth Baseball program and has benefitted over 7 million players since it launched. In 2018, more than 1,100 Chevrolet dealers participated across the country.

Finley Motors will present Finley Sharon Hope Page Spartans an equipment kit that includes useful items such as equipment bags, first aid kits, batting tees, and T-shirts.

In addition, Finley Motors will present a check representing a one-time monetary contribution to Finley Sharon Hope Page Spartans. Finley Motors and Finley Motorsports is proud to honor all the veterans of the United States of America. With help from the Peterson-Olson Post #13 of Finley American Legion, they raised an American Flag in memory and honor of all veterans past and present serving our great country!
The flag is also special to Karl Christian as his father Ray Christian, was a veteran. He wanted to pay tribute to his father and all those that served our country. God Bless America!

School is here. Some schools have started already and others are getting ready to begin their school year. Finley Motors Inc partnered with Steele County Social Services to ensure that area children have the supplies they need to start the school year. Generous donors brought in school supplies and back packs to Finley Motors Inc and Social Services distributed the supplies to twenty-one Steele County children identified as needing help.

The beginning of the school year is difficult for families who struggle to make ends meet month to month. The assistance of school supplies helps reduce some of the financial pressure on families. The kids' faces light up when they see a new back pack full of supplies just for them and they are excited to begin the school year.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who contributed. The generosity of the residents of Steele County is truly amazing.

Good morning Karl,

I wanted to send you a thank you note, share a pic of our mites and minis with you and explain how we have been using your donation with our Mites and Mini Mites. For reference our Mites(29) and Minis(19) are 8 years old and younger and come from a wide area including, Buxton, Reynolds, Hillsboro, Hunter, Hatton, Blanchard, Mayville, and Portland.  

WORKING LIKE A DAWG!

It was suggested to me that we need to help the kids build passion and work ethic for themselves. So we came up with the "WORKIN LIKE A DAWG" program. Here is how it works. On monday nights players turn in their "time card" with how many minutes of extra on ice time, off ice time and shots they took during the previous week to the team manager. In return they get rewarded with treats, gifts, hockey cards, shirts, hats, pencils, pucks etc. It is donations such as yours that make this possible for us to continue with the program. Currently we are closing in on 20000 minutes of both extra on and off ice time and nearly the same of shots taken for our group and I know the number is probably a lot higher than that because I see lots of kids skating extra that are not turning their time cards in consistently. Overall I'd say the program has been a success and it couldn't be done without sponsors like you!
